Hadiqa Kiani revisits her musical roots in latest album ‘VASL’


Known for her soulful voice and sonic versatility, the musician turned actor Hadiqa Kiani is back with a bang with her latest album, VASL, stated a press release

Taking to social media, the singer-songwriter shared the news of her album launch with her fans

As she thanked her fans for being there throughout her musical career, she now invited them to revisit her roots with her new music

The contemporary combines with an organic eastern classical track to create an atmosphere of ease, comfort and peace through music

  Composed and produced by Kiani herself, the first single from the album is titled Humsafar

Exploring a dreamy obsession for soulmates, the poetry for Humsafar is penned by her mother, Khawar Kiani with musical arrangements by Hassan Badshah

Visually captured by ace director Abdullah Haris in the scenic hill station, Murree, the music video explores the stunning environment of the region

Kiani's wardrobe has been designed by Yousuf Bashir Qureshi, distinguished as the pioneer of utilitarian avant-garde

The wardrobe, like every song on the album, holds an individual narrative, it is carefully designed, self-aware, protective and responsible; the perfect compliment to the raw connection that the ballads of VASL aim to create

From pop-rock hits to folk classics, VASL traverses Kiani’s unmatched versatility and archives her roots under one album

The Tamgha-e-Imtiaz recipient also made her acting debut in 2021 with Momina Duraid’s Raqeeb Se who’s OST also features her compositions
