No justification for delaying polls: Elahi

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) central leader and former defence minister Pervez Khattak met former Punjab chief minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi on Monday and discussed the political situation as well as the date for elections in Punjab and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P)

He called on the governor and the ECP to stop “playing football” on the issue as the nation was seeing how the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) was “afraid” of the election

Khattak said that PTI Chairman Imran Khan’s popularity was giving sleepless nights to the rulers

“It is the constitutional responsibility of the Election Commission and the governors to announce a schedule for the elections

” The former federal minister said that after the court’s decision, no attempt to run away from the election would be successful
