We have complete faith in his leadership and we're thankful to him that he has given us this opportunity," Elahi said

The former chief minister said he and his supporters would take only those decisions which benefit Punjab and Pakistan, adding that they would never do anything that harms the PTI

Elahi said that if anyone thinks he has switched parties because of some "signal", then that is a "good news" as he wishes to "take everyone along"

He said that PTI chief Imran Khan has assured him of the post of PTI Central President and soon deliberations would be completed in this regard

He said that Elahi and his supporters always stood with Imran Khan like a stone wall and even had to pay a price for their loyalty

Earlier, Elahi met the PTI chief at his Zaman Park residence and discussed the political situation in the country

The meeting also included 10 former lawmakers Hafiz Ammar Yasir, Shujaat Nawaz, Abdullah Yousuf Warraich, Bao Rizwan, Sajid Bhatti, Ahsanul Haque, Mohammad Afzal, Basma Chaudhry and Khadija Umar Farooqui

Moosa Elahi, Chaudhry Maqsood, Khurram Munawwar and Haji Umar Habib were also part of the meeting

Last month, Elahi had announced that he was considering merging the PML-Q with allies PTI

Following the announcement, Shujaat issued him a show-cause notice on January 16 stating that the provincial president could not merge the party with another one, and asked him to explain his unconstitutional action within seven days

“Elahi should explain the unconstitutional and illegal action

PML-Q, as a political party, has its own vote bank, discipline, manifesto and code

Elahi's statements of the previous day are a violation of party rules

” However, as per a press release issued earlier today, no explanation had been given by Elahi over his actions and therefore, his membership has been terminated
