If you’re highly motivated, hard-working and ready to dream big while having lots of fun at the same time then we want to hear from you today!Your new role:The Deputy IT Service Manager will be responsible for following the end-to-end cycle of releases ensuring that all changes and releases to the DCA Live Service are fit for purpose, tested and 100% safe before being released by holding the technical owners of each release to account for their successful delivery and facilitating the implementation planning and coordinating resources on the day to complete their assigned tasks. You will also gather all possible evidence to show the result of each change, which will be reported to business Stakeholders. The Deputy IT Service Manager will also be responsible for tracking the deployment and destruction of test environments, their allocation for testing and ensuring they are released and decommissioned at the appropriate time to keep costs to a minimum. As part of the weekly reporting, the current and projected use of test environments will be reported on to IT senior management, providing traceability to forecasted releases for fixes and projects.You will provide business stakeholders with clear and concise communications detailing the status of each release candidate each week and be responsible for managing the progress of problem resolutions by joining up the problems in Live Service with the fixes that are resolving them. You will report on progress of the problems found and their resolution at the Live Service Touch Base meetings to the senior IT stakeholders. RequirementsCoordinating submissions and change requests for the Change Review Board, clearly defining the acceptance criteria and ensuring it is met for every submission.Chairing the Change Review Board, minuting the outcomes and compiling the implementation plans for the approved releases for that week, holding technical owners to account.Coordinating technical and testing resources to attend the change and release windows, ensuring everybody is clear on their tasks and responsibilities.Managing the activities during release windows according to the implementation plans to ensure successful deployment, gathering pre and post release testing evidence for tracking purposes and recording any deviations from the implementation plans.Chairing the Change and Release Review meeting to review the success/failure of all the weeks changes to inform communications with business stakeholders.Managing the rollback of any failed changes according to the pre-defined rollback plans.Managing all communications with business stakeholders regarding all steps and results of the weeks’ releases.Owning the templates, artefacts and processes of Change and Release Management, continually challenging it, and adjusting it to improve efficiency.Collaborating with business stakeholders for additional post release testing, starting communications groups where required.Collaborating with the Programme Director to prioritise changes where necessary, should the volume of changes exceed the allowed change window.Coordinating and managing the resolution of problems in Live Service, joining up with fixes being developed and released, reporting progress to IT Senior Management on a regular basis.Maintain traceability between problems and fixes being developed/released.Maintain traceability of test environments, ensuring they stay within cost and performance limitations of the organisation.Reporting on test environment use for current and forecasted work.
