You will work together with engineers and scientists to establish research hypotheses, establish objectives, establish methods for gathering data, and develop a plan for the research study.Core ResponsibilitiesDevelop human research studies that provide insight into the testing, validation, and verification of sensors and algorithms for various health metricsCollaborate with product development and algorithm teams to plan research studies that evaluate the effectiveness of sensors and algorithms in detecting and evaluating various conditions related to human healthEnsure the scientific accuracy and repeatability of study outcomesCreate and write comprehensive research plans and participant consent forms to facilitate the collection of high-quality dataComprehend internal data collection methods and external medical-grade devices to guarantee data accuracyTrain study staff on data collection techniques and recommended proceduresConsult the literature, quickly absorb new information, and learn new tools as necessaryDevelop rigorous test protocols to test, tune and validate sensor systems to ensure medical grade performance from current and future sensor systemsManage and coordinate with a diverse set of cross-site and cross-functional team members from electrical engineering, software, digital signal processing, machine learning, and clinical groupsUtilize signal processing and machine learning techniques to extract features and create basic models from physiological signals to explore feasibilityInterpret, condense and present findings of pilot studies to inform hardware, firmware, and algorithm specificationsValidate and identify concepts for novel health metrics that can be added to the product with existing or future sensors
