ISLAMABAD: The PPP has decided to replace Syed Qaim Ali Shah with Syed Murad Ali Shah. The former governed Sindh for eight years but he did nothing other than conduct silent politics. There was no seriousness showed towards Sindh’s actual problems, whether in its education sector, health sector or infrastructure. Law and order, in the broader perspective, is not up to the mark. The energy crisis is perhaps the biggest issue that people are confronted with, yet nothing has been done to resolve the matter.
I cannot say, at this moment, whether the change in CM will make any difference but it must be said that the PPP has played its card cleverly. Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah could be a game changer for the PPP in terms of political issues, the law and order situation and a range of other provincial problems.
Whatever the rationale is behind this change, the people of Sindh are taking the decision as a ray of hope. They are optimistic, hoping that their problems will be addressed as they should be. The people of Sindh need to be given top priority by the PPP as they have always given their unconditional support to the party.
