MUMBAI: Although Diana Penty initially thought of sticking to roles similar to the one she played in her debut film Cocktail, the actor later decided to challenge herself and chose a completely different character for her next offering, Happy Bhag Jayegi. The Bollywood beauty returns to the big screen with the upcoming comedy, after a hiatus of four years.

About her comeback, Diana explained that she was waiting for the right script to sign a project. “There is a right time for everything and I was looking for the right script. I was meeting people and reading scripts, but somehow, nothing ever clicked. This was the first one that actually did,” she said. “I get bored very easily, so when I read a script and like it, that’s something that I want to be associated with. I like to play different kinds of roles and not the same thing because I like to do things that are challenging.”

According to Diana, she had wanted to play the same kind of roles after Cocktail because the film was so close to her heart, but her thoughts changed overtime. “After Cocktail, I thought of playing the same roles because it is safe, I know how to play it and it is very close to me. But then I thought about it and wanted to do something completely different,” she said, during a shoot for a song from Happy Bhag Jayegi. Diana’s character in the film is a runaway bride. When asked whether she intends to run away from the industry as well, she quipped, “I am going to do more films, don’t worry. I am not going to bhaago this time.”

After the hit song Tumhi Ho Bandhu, Diana returns to Bollywood with a brand new dance number Gabru Ready to Mingle Hai in the upcoming film.
