Demotion: 250 petitions by policemen dismissed
LAHORE: Lahore High Court Chief Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah on Thursday dismissed as not maintainable 250 petitions moved by various police officers challenging their demotion orders. The chief justice observed that the petitioners should approach the service tribunal. The counsel for the petitioners said that his clients did not fall in the category of out-of-turn promotion and but the Inspector General of Police Mushtaq Sukhera had issued a notification on June 23, 2016, demoting them. He requested the court to set aside the notification.
