ISLAMABAD:
A patient welfare society called “Kuch Acha” was launched on Thursday by students of Federal Medical and Dental College (FMDC). The society aims to provide free medical treatment to needy patients across the country.
Apart from supporting the provision of free health services to patients at Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims), the society would also set up free medical camps at the National Press Club (NPC), and in various areas of the twin cities, while also offering voluntary services during disasters.
The society will function under the patronage of Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Medical University Vice Chancellor Javed Akram.
Poor patients from the twin cities turn to Pims for treatment and such initiatives are necessary for our country, Akram said while speaking at the launch.
