Golf championship: Amin uses weather to his advantage

KARACHI: Islamabad’s talented golfer Hamza Amin shot an eight-under-par 64 to grab the lead on the opening day of the Chief of Naval Staff (CNS) Open Golf Championship at Karachi Golf Club in Karachi yesterday.

Amin took full advantage of the climate and struck a number of birdies to move ahead of the chasing pack. He is followed in second place by Lahore Gymkhana’s Shafiq Masih, who shot a five-under-par 67, while Muhammad Tahir rounded up the top three, thanks to his four-under-par 68.

“The weather was favourable and I used it perfectly to take the big lead,” Amin told The Express Tribune. “This wide margin will help me during the next three day.”
