Minhal Sohail, a 21-year-old woman, is among seven athletes representing Pakistani in 2016 Rio Olympics.
Sohail has qualified for the 10 Metre Air Rifle Category for the Olympics and Oscar-winning filmmaker Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy has decided to to launch two short documentaries titled ‘Dream Big Pakistan’ which will feature the participants.
In her first introductory short film, Sharmeen introduced Minhal Sohail. “Being the first Pakistani woman to qualify for the Olympics is a huge honour,” shared Minhal.

In the short documentary, Sohail confides in and says that she pushes herself a lot to achieve whatever she sets her mind on.

“I hope other Pakistani girls will be inspired by me and follow my footsteps,” shares the confident participant.
Minhal Sohail has been competing in the Air Rifle category since the age of 16 and has been trained under the Pakistan Navy Shooting Program. The short-film shares Minhal’s training at the Pakistan Navy Shooting Range Facility, Karsaz and her thoughts on competing at the Olympics. The film also features Coach S/Lieutenant Coach Khalid Bin Anwar who has been coaching Minhal for the Olympics, reports Sharmeen’s team.
