ISLAMABAD: Police have arrested a 50-year-old man for allegedly raping one of his relatives in her house in G-13/2.
Golra police arrested AH*, the suspect, on Saturday, three days after the woman* had complained to the police. He was produced before a judicial magistrate on Sunday and was sent on 14-day judicial remand.
A police official told The Express Tribune that both the suspect and the victim hailed from Sargodha and were distant relatives.
He said that the woman, who lived in government quarters, called the suspect to Islamabad promising to arrange a job for him.
“He came here for the job, but later she claimed the man had raped her,” said the official, who requested not to be named. The police official said the victim, 40, had married four times.
Police said an investigation was on and medical tests results were still awaited.
