Dismissing as rumours the claims that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) chief Nawaz Sharif’s recent visit to Saudi Arabia is part of a political agenda, the ruling party has said that Nawaz never abused the authority of his office, a press release said on Sunday.
A PML-N spokesperson said that Nawaz has deep personal ties with the Saudi leadership and that he is going to meet them as a head of a political party.

“He has always used his relations for the benefit of the country, and never for personal gain,” the spokesperson said in a statement.
He also dismissed as ‘speculation’ the stories of discord between the Sharif brothers as well as claims that Nawaz wants another clemency deal through the Saudi Royal family.

A report recently published in British daily The Times claimed that such a deal might be in the offing.
Nawaz’s younger brother Shehbaz Sharif, was already in Saudi Arabia along with senior party leaders, when Nawaz Sharif arrived there on Saturday. The party leaders are expected to meet Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman.
