Kulbhushan Jadhav in a latest video message, released by the Foreign Office on Thursday, once again thanked Pakistan for allowing his wife and mother in Islamabad to meet him.
According to Express News, the self-confessed Indian spy said that his mother Avanti Jadhav and wife Chetna were very happy to see him in good health and for that, he was grateful to the Pakistani officials.
However, Jadhav regretted that his mother had looked scared during the meeting and he saw fear in her eyes.
“I want to tell India that I am a commissioned officer in the Indian Navy. But why are they lying about my working for an intelligence agency?” he said, addressing the Indian nation in the video.
Last year, Pakistan had granted permission to arrange a meeting of Jadhav with his wife and mother in Islamabad. Jadhav met his family in the capital on December 25 — their first meeting since his arrest from Balochistan in March 2016 on charges of espionage and terrorism. He was tried by a military court and awarded death penalty. The then chief of army staff has endorsed his death penalty.
The Indian government took the matter to the International Court Justice (ICJ), which has stayed his execution.
During his meeting in Islamabad, Jadhav had also confessed to his family that he was involved in terrorism in Pakistan.
