Seasonal influenza: Another patient dies at Nishtar Hospital


MULTAN: The toll of seasonal influenza cases rose to 14 with the death of another female patient, who was tested positive at Nishtar Hospital. Focal person for infectious diseases Irfan Arshad said on Thursday that 35-year-old Zakiya hailed from Muzaffargarh.

She was a suspected seasonal influenza patient who was tested positive. He added Zakiya breathed her last at ICU and she was the third patient, who belonged to Muzaffargarh and died at Nishtar Hospital.

He said two more victims Fazlan Bibi and Azeem were also from the same city. However, Irfan maintained that most of the patients who died of seasonal influenza hailed from Multan.
