Two brothers get death sentence 


HARIPUR: Two brothers convicted of killing a 14-year old student of ninth grade were sentenced to death on Thursday. District Sessions Judge Ejaz Ahmed handed the death sentence in addition to a fine of Rs 10 million to Ismail Shah and Afzal Shah for killing Aqib Husain in 2014 over a land dispute. Judge Ejaz Ahmed acquitted another accused in the case, Ahmed Husain, the brother-in-law of Ismail and Faisal, on benefit of doubt. According to the case history, the killers and the victim were neighbours in Nara Amazai area. They had a dispute over a piece of land. One day in Jult 2014, Ismail and Faisal called Aqib and killed him with multiple blows of knives. Sources said the accused tried acquittal through a settlement with the family of the victim, but failed. Police investigation officer Iqbal Shah Mashwani said they investigated the case according to law and included sections without any fear or favour.
