Radd-ul-Fasaad: FC foils 'major terror bid' in Mastung raid

Frontier Corps (FC) Balochistan foiled a major terrorist activity by recovering improvised explosive devices (IEDs) during a raid in Mastung.

“Through an IBO [intelligence based operation] in Mastung based on lead from apprehended suspects, [FC] recovered cache of arms, ammunition and explosives including sniper rifles, grenade and IEDs hidden in caves for a major terrorist activity,” the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Saturday.

On Thursday, FC arrested 15 suspects, including eight terrorists involved in attacks on police during raids in Zhob, Sibbi, Dera Murad Jamali Mach and Killi Ismail.

Seventy kilogrammes of explosive, weapons and ammunition and communication equipment were also recovered during the operation.

Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad, a military offensive against the “latent threat of terrorism”, was launched in February 2017.
