HARIPUR: Residents of remote areas of Haripur district will soon have access to electricity and piped gas with ongoing projects expected to be completed soon.
This was disclosed by lawmaker Babar Nawaz while addressing the newly elected body of the Haripur Press Club on Monday. Nawaz, who is also the chairman of the National Assembly Standing Committee on Human Rights, said that the government had launched projects worth Rs41 billion in the district.
Of this, projects worth Rs20 billion have already been completed. In a veiled swipe at political opponents, Nawaz said that his party, the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) had prioritized servitude of the public while shunning the politics of victimization.“I have started many developmental projects even in areas of our opponent to facilitate the public,” he claimed.
