Consumers shocked by high power bills

SWABI: High electricity bills have irked the residents of Union Council (UC) Sheikh Jana Swabi, who demanded Peshawar Electric Supply Company (Pesco) authorities to withdraw the additional units billed from last month’s bill to provide relief to the people.

The elders of UC Sheikh Jana including Gul Zada, Sher Afsar, Daraz Khan and Naseer Muhammad in a press statement alleged that additional units were billed without taking correct meter reading and photographs that have put an extra financial burden on the consumers.

They said people of UC Jana were extending full cooperation to Pesco by regularly paying electricity bills and including additional units in electricity bills was a great injustice to them.

They demanded Pesco authorities to take notice of the alleged wrong meter-readings and take disciplinary action against the responsible officials.
