CJP irked over delay in completion of SC employees’ housing society

ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court of Pakistan on Wednesday expressed dissatisfaction over the pace of work at the Supreme Court Employees Cooperative Housing Society in the capital.

Taking notice of the delay in the completion of the housing society in Islamabad, Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar resolved to address the issue at the earliest.

The CJP directed the Director General (DG) Intelligence Bureau (IB) to conduct a preliminary inquiry into the matter so as to ascertain the causes of the delay in the allotment of plots to the SC employees.

SC irked over illegal allotment of land

Showing grave concern about the plight of the employees, the CJP also asked the DG IB to fix responsibility on the delinquents for undue delay and to investigate different aspects whether any sort of corruption was involved in the matter.

As the CJP resolves to ensure the allotment of plots to the allottees as soon as possible, there has been a hue and cry among the employees of the society complaining that despite a delay they have not yet been allotted any possession of the plots. They complain that even land has not been acquired by them so far.

SC’s cleanliness staffers go on strike

Workers responsible for cleanliness at the top court on Wednesday stopped working and went on a strike in a protest for not being paid.

According to Express News, the staffers complained that contactor Munir was not paying them saying when officials of the Pakistan Public Works Department (PWD) would pay the bill only then he could pay them.

The cleanliness staffers at the SC said that they would continue their protest until they get their salaries.
