PML-N added 8,000MW to national grid since 2013: Abid Sher Ali

ABBOTTABAD: Minister of State for Power Abid Sher Ali said the ruling PML-N government has added 8,00 mega watts of electricity to the national grid since it came into power back in 2013.

He remarked while addressing the khulli Katchery as well as media persons at the Peshawar Electric Supply Company (PESCO) office on Wednesday.

“We shall guarantee that the country is self sufficient in power generation,” he added.

Sher Ali lashed out at the PTI-led K-P government on its failure to provide land for four mega power projects in the province.

He said that the provincial government is to blame for load-shedding and low voltage problem. “Work on 500KV Sheikh Muhammadi Project and 200KV power project at Nowshera is almost complete,” Ali added.

The federal minister also said that the 500KV Mansehra Grid Station would be inaugurated in January.

Six additional grid stations, he also said, will be erected in Hazara division in near future.

Sher Ali was hopeful that after the completion of these projects load-shedding in K-P would come to an end for good.

He said that PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif’s promise to the people of bringing an end to the power crisis would be fulfilled.

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader in the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Assembly Aurangzeb Nulhota and local MPA Sardar Muhammad Fareed were also present on the occasion.
