On the brutal rape-and-murder case of a minor in Kasur, Shah went on to say that the incident was proof that Punjab government has failed miserably.

“This was not the first incident but a continuation of the past,” he said adding that if an SP could be suspended owing to the death of a Raiwand’s peacock then CM Punjab should himself now resign from his post.

The opposition leader also condemned the firing by police personnel in Kasur during the protests that killed two protesting men. An eight-year-old girl was raped and killed in Kasur, days after she had gone missing from her home.
