Chemical factory catches fire in Karachi


KARACHI: A chemical factory caught fire on Thursday in the Ahsanabad area of Karachi.

Soon after the inferno, the NIPA and Safoora water hydrants were put on emergency.

The fire brigade upon hearing the news alerted Karachi Water and Sewerage Board (KWSB), after which tankers carrying 50,000 gallons of water have been dispatched to the area.

KWSB MD Syed Hashim Raza Zaidi ordered the authorities to reach the site immediately and ensure that ample amount of water is supplied at the fire site.

The cause of the fire is yet to be determined.
