Maryam Nawaz, daughter and political heir apparent to deposed prime minister Nawaz Sharif, said on Monday that the ‘sit-in protesters’ are readying to agitate against the ruling PML-N government once again, but they will meet failure as they have the last time they took to streets.
“How will the world know who are the conspirers if the [PPP co-chairman] Asif Ali Zardari and [PTI chief] Imran Khan don’t join forces,” Maryam told journalists in Lahore, Express News reported.
Her apparent reference was to the January 17 PAT-led protest rally which would be join by both Imran and Zardari.
Dr Tahirul Qadri-led PAT has been demanding resignations of Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Law Minister Rana Sanullah for their alleged role in the 2014 shooting of its political workers.
On the Zainab murder case, the former first daughter hoped the culprits are caught soon and given exemplary punishment.

PML-N chief Nawaz was disqualified by the top court in July last year after a landmark verdict in the Panama Papers case.
The PTI, PML-N’s main political arch-rival, led the campaigns against the ruling party in 2014 and 2017 against its alleged role in systematic poll rigging and corruption, respectively.
Analysts foresee a bigger majority for the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz in the upcoming general election keeping in view the efforts of PML-N-led government to deliver on governance, economic reforms and particularly security.
