Balochistan CM vows to upgrade police force

Balochistan Chief Minister Abdul Quddus Bizenjo has said the police force is being upgraded in order to address the problems being faced by the people of the province.

“Problems of the people will be solved quickly as I have summoned the official files to issue orders,” said CM Bizenjo while addressing a press conference at the Chief Minister Secretariat on Monday. He was flanked by Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) leader and former Punjab chief minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi.

Bizenjo lauded the sacrifices rendered by the police personnel while defending the lives and property of the masses.

He did not elaborate any further on the development.

The chief minister said that he was not interested in finding out whether the past governments in Balochistan were good or bad, nor would he ever criticise them on their performance.

“I will refrain from commenting on them,” he said.

He said, “We have worked tirelessly to form a government and will make sure that it is successful. We will perform our duties according to our best abilities for solving people’s problems.”

He thanked the party leadership for reposing confidence in him.

Bizenjo said, “As a chief minister, I will be more functional and active.”

He appreciated Jaffar Khan Mandokhel and Mir Karim Nausherwani for working hard to make his party popular among the people of the province.

Taking over the podium, Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi denied allegations that his party was trying to sabotage the scheduled Senate elections.

He said his party was not involved in seeking dissolution of assemblies.

The PML-Q leader predicted that his party would form the next government in Balochistan with the support of allies and friends.

Reposing confidence in Bizenjo, he said the new Balochistan CM will outperform the previous ones.”

He said, “Claims that his party came to power with a mere five seats is an insult to the democratic decision of the Balochistan Assembly as Bizenjo got 41 votes.”

He said that it is the exclusive right of the Balochistan Assembly to elect the leader of the house.

He said, “Bizenjo has been our colleague since our difficult days and till date, he is with us.”

He said his party was trying to reunify all Muslim Leaguers.

He hoped that politicians belonging to the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz would also join them in forming the governments at the Centre and in the provinces.

He said Chaudhry Shujaat could not come to Quetta as he was sick and had gone abroad for treatment.

He said his party will join the protest called by Dr Tahirul Qadri against the killing of 14 innocent people by the police at Model Town, Lahore.
