Drone strikes kill two, injure one near Pak-Afghan border

PARACHINAR: At least two militants have been killed while another was injured in two drone strikes near the mountainous Pakistan-Afghanistan border with Kurram Agency on Wednesday.

According to sources, the first drone hit the house in Badsha Kot area of Lower Kurram Agency and injured one person. The house was completely destroyed in the incident, confirmed the sources.

The injured has been identified as Khalid and is suspected to be an Afghan militant.

The second drone hit Afghanistan’s Khost area where the US missile targeted a militant hideout killing two terrorists.

Suspected US drone strikes kill 31 on Pak-Afghan border

In a drone strike last year in October allegedly carried out by a US spy plane, at least 11 people were killed on the Pak-Afghan border, following a strike a day earlier that had killed 20. The attacks came days after a Canadian-American couple held hostage by the Taliban were freed from the area.

At least two people, including a Haqqani network commander, were killed in December 2017 after another suspected US drone struck a vehicle on the near Kurram Agency.

Pakistan has repeatedly said that drone strikes on its soil are a violation of its sovereignty. Taliban leader Mullah Akhtar Mansour was also killed in one of such strikes in 2016.

Sources say a Haqqani network commander among those killed in the attack
