CM Balochistan links investment in province with stability


QUETTA: The Chief Minister of Balochistan Mir Abdul Quddus Bizenjo has called for order and peace in all parts of the province on Tuesday ensuring the protection of life and property of the people.

Speaking at a police briefing on law and order situation at the CM Secretariat, he praised the sacrifices and services rendered by the police force in Balochistan for maintaining peace and stability.

The Inspector General of Balochistan Police Moazam Jah was also present.

The chief minister said there is a need for improvement of law and order situation in the province and hoped that security forces will eventually take on the enemy and win the war against terrorism.

He said peace and development are inter-dependent and investment will come when there is peace in the region.

Targeted operation ‘to be intensified’ in Balochistan

The chief minister said, “With a positive approach, government will work on development, hence reducing mass unemployment.”

He hoped on making the province prosperous by following the road to development.

He said that the government would complete its constitutional tenure and there is no threat to the government in Balochistan.

Meanwhile, at another briefing in CM secretariat regarding Communications and Works Department, the chief minister called for completion of all the uplift schemes within their allotted time.

He advised officials to be on their toes to complete the schemes at their earliest. He issued specific instructions for timely authorisation of all schemes and early release of funds in Communication sector.

Bizenjo said that timely completion of development schemes will provide relief to the people.

Minister for Communication and Works, Mir Asim Kurd was also present at the briefing.

Secretary Finance Rohail Baloch explained the difficulties faced by the finance department in releasing funds. He said the deduction of income tax was creating scarcity of funds and thus creating a delay in the completion of projects.

The chief minister said that he would take up the issue with the federal government on a priority basis.

Earlier, a delegation of JUI-F also met the chief minister and discussed issues of mutual interest. The delegation was led by provincial Secretary General of JUI-F Malik Sikandar, Federal Ministers Maulana Amir Zaman, and Mir Usman Badini. The JUI delegation congratulated the chief minister on his election.
