Dr Ishfaq Ahmed laid to rest


The funeral prayer of former chairman of Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission (PAEC), Dr Ishfaq Ahmed was offered at H-11 Graveyard, Islamabad on Sunday, according to Radio Pakistan.

People belonging to different walks of life participated in the funeral prayer.

Dr Ishfaq Ahmed contributed his services in the fields of science and technology.

Journalist Nargis Khanum laid to rest

The 87-year-old passed away on Thursday January 19, 2018.

He had also served as science adviser to the government and headed the PAEC when Pakistan became a nuclear power in 1998. The government acknowledged the work of Dr Ishfaq and other institutions on a number of occasions.

Dr Ishafaq received Sitara-e-Imtiaz in 1989 and Hilal-e-Imtiaz in 1995.

In 1998, he received Nishan-e-Imtiaz for his services to the country. He was also awarded gold medal by the Institute of Leadership and Management in Lahore the same year.
