ISLAMABAD: Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) is set to become the latest organization to bring the globally acclaimed TEDx talks to the capital. The varsity on Sunday announced that they have secured the licence for the talks. In a statement, Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) said that they hope to acquaint students with the latest knowledge and international learning practices in their respective fields through the TEDx talks. TEDx — by the media organiation TED — helps spread ideas through influencing short and meaningful talks. Initially, the talks were focused on covering technology, entertainment and design but with rapid success and widespread popularity, its focus is shifted to cover an array of topics. “By organising a TEDx event, AIOU aims to create a unique gathering in the academic community that will unleash new ideas, inspire and inform,” the statement read.
