Weather turns chilly after rain, snowfall in Quetta

QUETTA: The dry weather of Quetta turned chilly as cold winds, rain and snowfall hit the Balochistan’s capital city and its neighbouring areas on Monday.

The cold but pleasant weather tempted local peoples to come out of their homes as many reached Hanna Urak valley to enjoy snowfall.

Quetta and its outskirts witnessed winter’s rain and snowfall which turned the valley’s dry weather chilly.

Parts of Balochistan receive winter’s first rain, snow

Mountains surrounding the provincial capital shrouded with snow as the rain and snowfall continued for hours in many parts of Balochistan.

“We were expecting snowfall as dark clouds had covered the city since morning, I have brought my children to Hanna Urak to enjoy the snowfall,” said Shehryar, a resident of Quetta.

The weather condition has rapidly brought down the temperature to below zero Celsius.

Moreover, several localities faced low gas pressure as a result of increasing consumption due to cold weather.

“There is no gas in our homes, we are forced to buy woods and gas cylinders to warm our children in this freezing weather.” Zafarullah, who works at a private shop, said while buying woods.

The meteorological department has forecast more snowfall and rain in western area of the provincial capital.
