ISLAMABAD: China has a special place in our heart and the friendship between two neighbours has no parallel in international relations, said National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq.
The NA speaker said this while talking to the Chinese Ambassador Yao Jing who called on him at Parliament House on Tuesday.
Sadiq said, “One Built One Road is the most brilliant initiative of the Century and China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is the major part of this project.” He told the envoy that Pakistan is fully committed to the timely completion of all projects under CPEC. He stressed the need for regular interaction between the parliamentarians and business community of both the countries to further strengthen the existing relations.
The NA speaker informed the envoy that the relations between Pakistan and China are based on shared geopolitical, economic, historical and strategic interest, and both the countries have always stood with each other at difficult times.
Sadiq, while discussing the First Speakers Conference held in Islamabad, said, “We must resolve our issue with collective wisdom of the region.” He further said the time will come very soon when we will control the menace of terrorism and will enhance the connectivity for prosperity among stakeholders of the region.
