Fall in love with Nazia Hassan once again

Born in 1965 in Karachi, late singer Nazia Hassan began her career in the 1970s.

Recalling one of her first interviews in the industry, journalist Fifi Haroon took to Twitter and shared a short video of innocent Nazia.

Wow what a find. I remember Nazia as super confident and self-assured. But this is of course a very young Nazia probably not knowing what to say to Tabassum's quick wit! https://t.co/TosaFOakNI

Conducted by Tabassum on her famous talk show Phool Kile Hain Gulshan Gulshan, a very young Nazia appears. Answering questions innocently, Nazia croons to Aap Jaisa Koi – her elegance and charm visible from a young age.

Truly no words to describe the beauty, the grace, the innocence and elegance of this girl..!! Sometimes I can't believe she was for real ❤ #NaziaHassan #RIP #Legend #Love

From what seems like her first interview, Nazia reveals how she never received any training to sing and how she doesn’t plan to either. “I’m going to school right now so I cannot take any lessons,” she said.

She further added that she received several film offers but refused all of them as she was never interested in acting.

Nazia provided the lead vocals for the song Aap Jaisa Koi from the 1980 film Qurbani which earned her a lot of praise.

I think the tremendous innocence that she had came through in her vocal delivery and that was one of the things that made her voice so damn special ❤ #NaziaHassan #RIP #Legend

In 1981, Nazia won a Filmfare Award for Best Female Playback for Aap Jaisa Koi. Her albums including Disco Deewane, Young Tarang, Hotline and Sang Sang were immensely loved by her fans.

Unfortunately, the singer passed away in 2000 after a long battle with lung cancer.
