Tackling sexual abuse

TURBAT: It is painful to see that sexual abuse has become common in Pakistan to the point where every day an innocent life falls prey to a predator. According to a report in this newspaper, a case was lodged on Wednesday, January 24th, against 10 men for allegedly raping a woman and her young daughter in front of the former’s elderly parents in a village on the outskirts of Punjab’s Muzaffargarh district on Tuesday night, January 23rd. With every passing day, it is becoming harder for the common man to protect their children, especially young girls. I urge the lawmakers and the authorities concerned to enforce laws strictly to control child abuse and rape.
