Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chief Tahirul Qadri has said that Lahore is home to a lot of ‘Rao Anwars’, and asked the government when it plans to take action against them, Express News reports.
Speaking to the media at a press conference in Lahore on Sunday, the cleric-cum-politician lashed out at Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) chief Nawaz Sharif.
Qadri calls for Shehbaz, Sanaullah resignations by Dec 31
“Nawaz Sharif is afraid because he is losing moral legitimacy. He is the worst enemy of our sovereignty as a nation,” Qadri was quoted as saying.
“There must be some reason behind the notion that he [Nawaz] only sees Tahirul Qadri every where he goes. I do not see March ascending upon the Sharifs. I predict their downfall very soon,” he added.
Qadri was of the view that he had safeguarded his right to protest against the Model Town incident, and he could hold a demonstration wherever he wanted at a time of his convenience.
Qadri asks followers to prepare for another sit-in
“Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) have been with us throughout our struggle, and are still standing alongside us.”
The PAT chief informed the reporters that a strategy regarding protests against the Punjab government would be devised with a mutual consensus.
“When the executive and parliament fails the people, it is the duty of the judiciary to take the charge and do the needful,” Qadri remarked.
