An intelligence-based operation was conducted in Mardan on Tuesday with arms and grenades being recovered, sources told The Express Tribune.
According to sources, two suicide jackets, one 30-bore pistol and two hand grenades were recovered from near Shankar Bazar Katlang Bank road in Mardan.
The bomb disposal squad disposed off the grenades on the spot while jackets were packed in plastic bags. The suicide jackets and material were handed over to police’s bomb disposal squad.

On the basis of intelligence they had received, the Rangers carried out an investigation in Liaquatabad Town’s Naseer Square Sharifabad. During the search, they uncovered guns and ammunition hidden underground by Muttahida Qaumi Movement-London’s (MQM-L) militant wing. According to the Rangers, the ammunition was intended to be used for violence and target killing in the city.
