Qasimabad blast: CTD registers FIR


HYDERABAD: The Counter-Terrorism Department has registered an FIR of Monday’s blast in Qasimabad, Hyderabad, in which a man was killed and another was injured, nominating unidentified persons. However, the FIR’s complainant, Qasimabad police SHO Syed Faiz Ali Shah pointed out that a shadowy nationalist group has taken responsibility of the explosion.

“The Sindhu Desh Revolutionary Army has accepted responsibility of the attack through the social media,” he reported in the FIR registered under Sections 302 and 324 of the Pakistan Penal Code, 6/7 of Anti Terrorism Aact and 4/5 of Explosives Act. A pamphlet of the group was also found stating that the organisation carried out the blast.

The explosion occurred on main Qasimabad Road along the exterior wall of Sui Southern Gas Company’s regional office and near Mehran Shopping Centre Monday evening. A scavenger, Bachal Bheel, was killed and a passerby, Muhammad Idrees, was injured.

According to the bomb disposal squad’s incharge, Ramzan Panhwar, high explosive weighing between 90 to 100 grammes were packed in a tin and covered with a piece of cardboard on the road. The police recovered four pencil cells, a few ball bearings and nails from the crime scene.
