Planned patrolling: Police map street crime incidents

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad police have revised their patrolling as well as security plans for the next 15 days after mapping timings of street crime incidents in various locations of the city. All Superintendents of Police (SPs) have been directed by Senior Superintendent of Police Najeebur Rehman Bugvi to ensure implementation of the patrolling and security plans, a police spokesman said on Tuesday. He said that research or mapping about timing of crime incidents has been conducted during the last week following directions of newly appointed SSP Bugvi. “Effective steps are being taken to control crime,” he said. The SSP, he said, has directed to also set up mobile police pickets or halting points in various areas of the city and maintain high vigilance and effective checking. Different halting points and pickets would be created to keep an eye over suspicious persons and vehicles to curb the crime and criminal activities, he added.
