LAHORE: Urdu film Jackpot is gearing up for its nationwide release on July 6, 2018. Promotional campaigns have been underway, as well as constant advertising via social media. The cast of the film has also been busy making promotional visits all around the country.
The Shoaib Khan directorial stars Noor Hassan, Sana Fakhar, Ismail Tara, and Javed Sheikh, alongside Indian actor Reyna Malhotra. Billboards at various corners of Lahore are advertising for the film along with the public campaigns held under the supervision of the film’s producer, Khurram Riaz.
Speaking to The Express Tribune, Riaz shared his experience and expectations regarding the success of the film. “Besides providing good entertainment to the Pakistan’s film fanatics, Jackpot is also an effort to increase confidence amongst producers to invest in the film business. I am hoping for Jackpot to be a trend setter.”
He continued, “This is the first time since the revival of our film industry that such extensive measures are being taken for the advertisement of a film. There are countless billboards all over Lahore and we just want the public to relive the glorious films of the past through Jackpot, and believe that those days will soon be coming back.”
Riaz went on to say that he and his team are seeking the public’s support for the success of local cinema. “We request the public to watch this film and I believe they will not be disappointed.”
The producer also spoke of the competition Jackpot faces from Bollywood films. “Cinemas are continuously busy, especially since the release of Indian films Sanju and Race 3. We are purposely releasing local films in the presence of Bollywood releases in order to eliminate any fear in local producers delaying the release of their current projects.”
He added, “We believe in our talent, skills and aspirations, and are hopeful that the quality of films we have produced has justly portrayed this talent. We have focused on flair and technology this time as it was missing in the past.”
Riaz revealed that Jackpot has been filmed in Thailand as well as Pakistan and a lot of attention has been given to the script, cast and music. “Shoaib Khan gave his 100% during the shoots and I trust that we have the best cast for this film.”
The film-maker also admitted that a lot of money was invested in Jackpot and thus, it is now up to the general public to play their role by giving it a good response. “I appreciate those who gave us a positive response during the promotions for the film and who will do so after the trailer launch too,” Riaz said. “However, our real support will be from those who choose to watch the film on the silver screen with their friends and families.”
