Poll campaigns and traffic congestion

KARACHI: As two political parties launched their poll campaigns from Karachi past weekend, traffic congestion on procession routes caused massive inconvenience to the commuters. The TLYP started off its campaign from Karachi airport upon the arrival of their party chief, Khadim Hussain Rizvi, in the evening. The convoy on its way to the Mazar-e-Quaid proceeded through Sharah-e-Faisal as a rally. On its way the convoy stopped over at numerous points where party leaders addressed their supporters.

I, along with my family, remained stuck in the traffic for a good three hours. We left the airport at 6pm but only managed to cross Sharah-e-Faisal by 9pm.

Throughout the procession, the TLYP, like any other party, asked people to vote for them to help the party change the system for the better. Yet witnessing how the party disrupted the traffic system, one is left to wonder how it can claim to change the system for the better.
