Chaudhry Nisar reaches out to Imran Khan for seat adjustment: PTI leader
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Vice-President Ghulam Sarwar Khan claimed on Wednesday that former interior minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan reached out to party chairman Imran Khan for seat adjustment more than once for NA-59 Rawalpindi.
The claim was made via a mutual friend and Imran is willing to not field a PTI candidate against Nisar in the constituency.
“Nisar has been my political rival for years now and I vehemently opposed the idea when it was shared with me,” Sarwar said, who is contesting the election on a PTI ticket against Nisar in both NA-59 and NA-63.
Sarwar defeated Nisar in the Taxila constituency in the elections back in 2013.
Sarwar made these revelations while addressing a press conference.
He demanded that the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) takes notice of the alleged violation of the code of conduct by Nisar.
“Nisar has been running his election campaign using state funds. He still enjoys the VIP protocol given to him in the past as interior minister,” he claimed.
He added that the heavy contingent of police guarding him during his campaign rallies is tantamount to influencing voters who still believe Nisar in power.

Sarwar said he has lodged a complaint over the code of conduct violation by Nisar with the district election commissioner.
He also questioned Nisar’s source of income from which he managed to buy three plots in the DHA area, as well as, establishing a poultry farm in the Chakri area of the garrison city.
“He [Nisar] was the most corrupt member of Nawaz Sharif’s cabinet and gets kickbacks from police stations and revenue clerks,” he claimed.
“Nisar must explain how he purchased plots in Rawalpindi’s DHA area,” he questioned. “Nisar failed to mention his poultry farm in his income tax returns.”
Sarwar further said that there was a discrepancy in the income and assets of the former interior minister. “I shall present evidence against Nisar before the National Accountability Bureau soon.”
