In pictures: Gal Gadot visits children's hospital dressed as Wonder Woman

Superheroes are amongst the most recognised faces in the world. While adults seem to have a keen liking for the supernatural beings, judging from the success of recent Marvel and DC films, children tend to draw inspiration from them too. After all, they’re strong and have super powers so why not?

Many a times it happens that a star who plays a certain character becomes known by it in the real world too. Fans often identify the actor by their supernatural alias who help make the world a better place in films.

‘Avengers’ plane unveiled to raise cancer awareness

But when said superheroes do that in real life, it’s enough to restore our faith in humanity. Such was the case when Gal Gadot, who plays Wonder Woman in the DC comic book franchise, paid a visit to a children’s hospital dressed at Wonder Woman herself. And needless to say, the patients and staff at Inova Children’s Hospital were ecstatic to say the least, reported Variety.

Dr Lucas Collazo, works at the hospital, tweeted a picture of the staff with Gadot. He captioned it, “Thank you Gal Gadot, for visiting us at Inova Children’s Hospital. You are a true Wonder Woman. The kids loved it and so did the staff.”

Gadot’s visit to the hospital comes just a few months after Marvel Studios partnered with American Airlines and Stand Up to Cancer to unveil an Avengers plane. Designed to raise cancer awareness, it was unveiled at Los Angeles Airport (LAX) before the premiere of Avengers: Infinity War. Heroes from the Avengers franchise along with researchers and cancer survivors were featured on the plane.

In 2015, Robert Downey Jr became a real life superhero after he gifted a 3D bionic Iron Man arm to a little boy who was born with a partially developed right arm. Downey dressed up as his fictional character Tony Stark to deliver the robotic arm personally.
