Maryam Nawaz's son detained for 'scuffling' with PTI workers in London

Junaid Safdar, son of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Maryam Nawaz, was taken into custody by London Police after being involved in a ‘scuffle’ with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) workers on Thursday.

The former first daughter claimed that PTI workers outside their Avenfield apartment verbally abused him and spat at him.

Maryam, daughter and political heir apparent to deposed prime minister Nawaz Sharif, added that “anyone would have reacted” to such unacceptable act.

While Junaid has come forward and said that they spat at him and then proceeded to attack him.

Earlier, the administration of Lahore advised ML-N leadership to abstain from holding public gatherings in the metropolis.

PML-N supremo and his daughter are returning home on Friday (today) to surrender to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) following the Avenfield verdict.

The party has planned to hold rallies in the city to welcome the two leaders.

On Wednesday, Maryam said that the nation would soon make its decision to change the fate of the country.
