Making life decisions

KARACHI: The number of Pakistanis who are single and are potentially seeking a life partner is constantly on the rise. But the issue they face predominantly stems from the social unacceptability at the thought of being unable to find a suitable person to share the rest of their life with. We encourage our youth to obtain the best education and make glorious achievements, and yet we constantly apply unnecessary pressure on them to get married and ‘settle down’. Many of the youth of Pakistan have a different mindset than that of their parents and grandparents, however time has changed and generations have changed, which should not always be perceived as a negative concept. We should allow our youth to make their own life decisions without the fear of social value judgment and encourage them to achieve goals which they are motivated to attain. That is the only way we will grow as a society and a nation.
