LAHORE: Information and Culture Minister Ahmed Waqas Riaz has said leaders under threat have been informed and the government is ready to provide maximum security to them.
The minister was of the view that it is also the duty of political leaders to minimise their movement and secure themselves.
Interim government has already taken all necessary measures in this regard, he said, adding that popular leaders were already being provided with ‘box security’.

Riaz assured that implementation on the Code of Conduct given by the election commission is the basic duty of the government and it would be implemented without any discrimination.
The information minister took part in tree plantation along with journalists outside Gaddafi Stadium where he also planted a sapling.

He said that awareness should be created among the masses to plant maximum trees for the betterment of environment as it would also help in decreasing the temperature. Riaz lauded the role of print and electronic media in this regard.
Earlier Riaz attended the award distribution ceremony of Public Art and Literary Society as chief guest in which different personalities related to the art and culture were given shields.
