Marri urges ‘political parties to abide by election code’

QUETTA: Balochistan Interim Chief Minister Alauddin Marri on Wednesday urged all political parties to abide by the Election Commission of Pakistan’s (ECP) Code of Conduct during general elections.

“The caretaker government is under obligation to hold transparent and impartial elections in a peaceful manner,” said Marri following a briefing by the district administration of Gwadar. The district administration briefed the CM that all the preparations had been completed and the Pakistan Army and FC contingents would be deployed on all the sensitive polling stations. The district administration also explained that elaborate arrangements had been made to ensure the masses have easy access to the polling stations on the day of elections.
