Plan to bar Malakand women from voting


PESHAWAR: The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Election Commissioner, Pir Maqbool Ahmad has taken notice of reports about alleged plan of barring women from voting in Malakand region of the province. According to an ECP  press release the  Commissioner has directed the concerned DROs to conduct inquiry into the reports. Some NGOs had submitted complaint with Election Commissioner about signing of agreements for barring women from voting in Malakand region. Meanwhile, the Provincial Election Commissioner has also taken notice of news report of discouraging female voters in  in Swabi and Batagram areas of K-P.
