HYDERABAD: According to a recent report, 15 million people in Pakistan are suffering from hepatitis B and C with around 150,000 cases reported every year. As 80 per cent of the hepatitis patients cannot afford the available treatment for the disease in the country, it results in loss of innumerable lives.
The government should arrange inexpensive treatment for hepatitis for those who cannot afford it while ensuring that significant reduction is brought in the number of cases reported annually.
