RAWALPINDI: A two-day medical workshop on Stroke and Carotid treatment began at Rawalpindi Institute of Cardiology (RIC) on Friday. Medical experts from United States, Egypt, Malaysia, Turkey and around 200 Cardiologists from public and private sectors are participating in the workshop to share their experiences. The inaugural session opened with the welcome address by RIC Executive DG Dr Azhar Mahmood Kayani emphasized the need for development of research collaboration with national and international cardiology specialists through such platforms. He said that acute stroke intervention is a game changer in the management of stroke with dramatic results and prevents permanent disabilities.
