Tribunal issues contempt notice to DEO

KARACHI: The Sindh Services Tribunal on Saturday issued a contempt of court notice to Matiari District Educational Officer (DEO) Abdul Haider Balo in the case pertaining to non-payment of salaries to 397 teachers despite court orders and ordered him to appear before the tribunal and submit a reply on December 25.

One of the petitioners’ lawyers, Malik Altaf Javed, argued that Services Tribunal had ordered to pay salaries and bonuses to teachers, but the order was not being implemented even after three years. Yet, despite non-payment of salaries, the teachers continue to teach for the sake of the students’ future. Javed said that legal action should be taken against those who do not comply.
