ISLAMABAD: In the wake of opposition’s no-trust motion tabled against the Senate chairman, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government declared that it will strengthen the upper house along with its allies as the nation cannot afford any political adventurism.
Speaking to media representatives here on Thursday, Special Assistant to Prime Minister (SAPM) for Information and Broadcasting Firdous Ashiq Awan said that the government had already dealt with the opposition during the budget session.
The SAPM maintained that some political pundits desired to run Senate according to their wishes and wanted to de-seat the leader of the upper house but the PTI government stood with the institution and not with an individual.
Firdous said that Prime Minister Imran Khan’s upcoming visit to United States will play a pivotal role in regaining the lost status of Pakistani passport.
